This is for the Folktale and Folklore contest hosted by
I tried to make this as short as I could.. Please read it, its a lovely folktale! ^-^ The Tale Of The Bamboo Cutter One day, while walking in the bamboo forest, an old, childless bamboo cutter called Taketori-no-Okina came across a mysterious, shining stalk of bamboo. After cutting it open, he found inside it a baby the size of his thumb. He and his wife raised her as their own child and named her Kaguya-hime. The girl grew from a small baby into a woman of usual size and extraordinary beauty. Eventually, the news of her beauty had spread and five princes came to Taketori-no-Okinas residence to ask for Kaguya-himes hand in marriage. Kaguya-hime concocted impossible tasks for the princes to accomplish. She would agree to marry the prince who managed to bring her a specified item. Yet, all princes failed to fulfill the tasks. After this, the Emperor of Japan, Mikado, came to see the strangely beautiful Kaguya-hime and, upon falling in love, asked her to marry him. Kaguya-hime rejected his request for marriage as well, telling him that she was not of his country and thus could not go to the palace with him. That summer, whenever Kaguya-hime saw the full moon, her eyes filled with tears. Her behavior became increasingly erratic until she revealed that she was not of this world and must return to her people on the Moon. As the day of her return approached, the Emperor set many guards around her house to protect her from the Moon people, but when an embassy of "Heavenly Beings" arrived at the door of Taketori-no-Okino's house, the many guards were blinded by a strange light. The heavenly entourage took Kaguya-hime back to Tsuki-no-Miyako ("The Capital of the Moon") against her will, leaving her earthly foster parents in tears. [The whole story is pretty long and I tried to make it as short as I could. There are four fundamental lessons in life: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.
Listening is the only lesson that everyone seems to forget about.

the only thing I would have to offer as a suggestion is on some of the layers where the objects look a little too light... maybe play with your "levels" ctrl=L in Photoshop" making those layers a little darker.
I think this is awesome tho!!!!! Instant Fave!

First, the image is just sensatinally-splendiforusly-fregalicious. It's so distinctively combined, mixed, blended and put together and it' so breathtaking. And after reading the folk, I understand the background behind this image and am even more charmed by it. I'm sur If Kaguya-Hime really excisted, she would be jelous of your interepretation of her. I'm so amazed by this, I'm shocked. i'm going to feature this sensation, if you'll allow of course
